In exceptionally horrifying news, I showed up in MM Blog. That picture is not what it looks like at all. It's from college, I hung out with theatre/film major people and my friend needed someone to fill a part on his weird student film.

So that's why I'm dressed as a woman. I don't do it for fun. I don't own a fantastic wig or gowns in my closet. But now my students have passed around the photo and I feel like I should just teleport to the artic and hide or something.

Also, here's some equally horrifying tip if you're a teacher:

If your students' parents get a hold of anything they find "objectionable". They throw some PTA fit and the school will gently tell you that maybe you need a break for rest of the semester until things die down.

But for fuck's sake, it's nearly the end of the semester. Summer's right around the corner, which means I'm out of a job a month and a half early and won't be teaching until the kids come back for the fall. Hopefully, I can find some tutoring thing over the summer or actually start thinking about grad school.

Now I'm going to work the rest of the day, come home, and try to tell my mom that I didn't move to New York to be a drag queen.

So dad brings up at dinner the Delphi people again, to which I'm really close to plugging my ears and going "la la la la!" so they stop bringing it up. Mom wants me to spend time with her and Grandma Margali for "practice." No one understands how creepy grandma is and how little time I want to practice magic. Last time I saw her, she appeared outside our house about 40 feet tall with horns. She even had her own smoke machine magic crap going. She makes some pretty grand entrances.

I don't think our neighbors invited us to any more cookouts after grandma came by. I'm not sure which side of the family is worse. At least my grandpa is a demon-mutant only on one side if the family.

Anyway, besides the homefront becoming slowly senile. The great news is that Alek and I have found a really good apartment in New York. I'm still moving my stuff over, but the deposit is in and things are looking good.

    I decided I'm getting a cat too.

What else is there to say? oh! Our drummer was in a biking accident and shattered his wrist. So now Scenic Route is doing acoustic show at coffee houses until our drummer heals. Why do drummers do such dumb shit? Is it a drummer thing?

So, I might be moving to New York City finally. Woo no more living in my parents' basement!

Despite it all, I'm still always surprised when I show up in the media. At least it's giving me "props", right? You get better rolling with it once the media posts photos of you in your high school play as a musketeer. It still is weird attention to get, which transfers over to high school students remembering you're Nightcrawler's son. Way too hard to teach history to freshman when they want to know about Dad's adventures or if I've ever been to Limbo.

    Ah well, that's life!

Anyway, I'm going to be back in New York City sooner than I thought. Scenic Route is playing a show at the Bowery Ballroom Sunday Night with Thieves, Chronic Radio, Trigger Heart in a ridiculously awesome all mutant band line-up. 18 and over though, so bring ID.

This is such shameless self promotion. Might as well tell you all: Scenic Route's new EP is up on Itunes as well -- just search for Scenic Route.

The news is exploding right now. I have it on in the background while I finish these papers, but damn. I called Dad earlier and it's just..you don't have words when people get struck down like that.

Not to mention I get extra queasy when they give Purifiers for Humanity any press. They all freak me out. Their spokesperson has crazy eyes, has anyone else noticed that? It's the same look you get from the guy talking to his sandwich on the subway. Just my observation.
